Your guide

From science to exploration, the same passion for living things

Léopold smiling, walking poles in hand and pack on his back, in front of a green cirque with clouds on the peaks.

A love of nature and of big adventures has driven me since childhood, and I first followed a scientific path, with a double master’s degree in marine sciences. My studies took me travelling, let me explore a wide range of ecosystems, and led me to pass on what I knew through teaching.

Over time, I felt the need to live this passion differently: in the field, immersed, as close as possible to living things. So I retrained as a guide.

My adventure began in Canada, where I trained as a guide and started leading sea-kayaking outings in Quebec. I also explored the wild lands of the Yukon and Alaska on self-supported expeditions.

Today, I am carrying that adventure on in Réunion. Qualified in France as a state-certified mountain leader, I invite you to discover the island’s exceptional landscapes on hikes that are accessible, challenging or contemplative.

And tomorrow? I would like to develop guided journeys in Canada: treks, canoe trips and expeditions into the wide-open spaces. My ambition: to share with you two wild places that are dear to me, Réunion and Canada, and authentic experiences as close to nature as possible.

The path

  1. STUDIES

Two master’s degrees in marine sciences

Oceanography and marine environments at the Sorbonne, then an international master’s in marine biodiversity and conservation, awarded with distinction. I learned to read an ecosystem — a skill that does not stop at the water’s edge. That scientific approach shapes the way I guide. I invite you to sharpen your eye and your curiosity, and to experience nature differently.

  2. TRAINING

State-certified mountain leader, in both options

Diplôme d’État d’alpinisme – accompagnateur en moyenne montagne, held in both of its options: tropical and equatorial mountain terrain in heavy-rainfall conditions, and snow-covered mountain terrain. The 2023 decree provides for only one. It is the qualification required to lead groups professionally, with mandatory refresher training and a current sports instructor registration — the condition for being insured, and for you to be covered.

  3. CANADA

Adventure tourism guide, trained in Quebec

I completed an intensive 1,065-hour course, entirely practice-based and taught by recognised professional guides. It built solid skills in leading, safety and managing groups in the outdoors.

During the course I earned several professional certifications, notably in:

    • wilderness first aid
    • canoeing
    • sea and whitewater kayaking
    • river rescue
    • avalanche safety
    • cycling
    • VHF radio

I was also trained to lead activities in aquatic, mountain and forest environments, and in outdoor practices such as:

    • cross-country skiing
    • ski touring
    • dog sledding
    • gourmet outdoor cooking

The course covers the full set of skills recommended by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council for the adventure tourism guiding profession.

  4. TODAY

Independent, and a member of France’s national mountain leaders’ union

I work alone: the person who answers you is the one who will walk ahead of you. I also work with school groups, in life and earth sciences as well as physical education.

A different way to explore

Coming out with me is not simply walking. It is stepping into the landscape, understanding what you are crossing, and experiencing the adventure with full attention. Between cirques, primary forest and volcanic relief, I guide you through wild, unspoilt terrain, where the island shows its full power.

You are covered

State qualification, current refresher training, professional liability insurance. Verifiable.

You deal with one person

No call centre, no unknown guide on the day. One booking, one person.

What our guests say
